From Studio Bell to hot spot eateries, from urban plazas to the library, there’s always something happening somewhere in East Village. We’ve rounded up our top picks of this week’s events, programs, classes and more. Don’t forget to check the calendars of our community partners for other goings-on in the neighbourhood!

King Eddy Rooftop

It’s no secret that the King Eddy rooftop has the best views of Stampede fireworks in East Village!
Access to the rooftop is free every day of Stampede, open from 7:30pm-late. While you’re there, take in some live music (shows start at 8:30pm) and share some beers with friends!

Tot Storytime at St. Patrick’s Island

Calgary Public Library brings endless imagination to the park with children’s stories and songs in this Tot Storytime program. Stay afterward with your young ones to spend some time exploring the island playground! The program is designed for ages 1-5 years, but siblings are always welcome. Program runs weekly from July 10 - August 14.

Phil & Sebastian Roasterie Tour

Phil & Sebastian Coffee Roasters is offering free weekly tours of their roasterie at the Simmons Building! During this 20 minute tour, you’ll gain knowledge about their vintage retro-fitted roaster and operations, as well as insight into their green coffee sourcing strategies. Looking for more? Own It’s 4th Annual Stampede Breakfast

Anyone and everyone is invited to the Own It Institute of Canada’s 4th Annual Stampede Breakfast, where there will be kids activities, face painting and prizes. Breakfast is first-come, first-served, while quantities last. The Own It Institute of Canada is a non-profit organization focused on mentorship and community building.

HIGH Fitness

Aerobics is back! Bigger, better, HIGHer! This class is first-come, first-served with a capacity of 30 participants. Bring good sneakers and a water bottle. HIGH Fitness will run on the deck of the EV Experience Centre every Friday from June 7 - September 13 (weather dependent).

Market Collective Summer Takeover at the St. Louis

Come one, come all, come all summer long! Between June and August, Market Collective will be set up at the historic St. Louis Hotel in East Village. Attendees can expect to see 13 local artisans, food trucks, art installations, DJs, and musicians. This event is family-friendly.

When: Friday from 12:00-7:00pm, Saturday & Sunday from 11:00-5:00

4th Annual Foldie Fondo

Join in on a 60 km bike ride of Calgary pathways that sweeps and curves along rivers, cruises over gentle hills, and sails along flatter terrain. While the ride’s theme is meant to draw out folding bike enthusiasts, all bikes and their owners are welcome. The ride will take stops throughout for rest, lifestyle breaks, and good cheer.

Urban BARK Meet-Up

Meet up with Rhonda from BARK every Sunday for a 45-60 minute walk around the neighbourhood alongside a whole motley crew of four-legged (and two-legged!) friends. Treats will be available for both humans and doggos. From June 9th to September 15th.

#Wildlife Rules at the Central Library

Mountain World Heritage Interpretive Theatre brings you a celebration of the animals that make Banff National Park such a special place. In partnership with Parks Canada.

C-Square Tuesday Market

The Market on Stephen Avenue has moved to East Village to run every 2 weeks in C-Square. Venture over to our urban plaza, where you will find up to 30 vendors offering produce, meats, breads, pastries, art, apparel and more!
