Construction & Road Closures
ROAD CLOSURE: RIVERFRONT AVENUE: JAN 20-21
Progress continues on East Village’s latest mixed-use residential project, EV606. Work is progressing steadily, with crews advancing on both interior and exterior tasks, including plumbing, electrical installations, drywall and insulation, roofing and brick masonry.
To facilitate construction, Riverfront Ave S.E. is anticipated to be closed on January 20 and 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. between 4 St S.E. and Confluence Way to allow crews to facilitate the delivery of construction materials.
Pedestrian detours will be in place along Riverfront Ave and vehicles will be detoured to 6 Ave via 4 St S.E. during the closures. See map here.
4th Avenue Flyover
The City of Calgary is advancing their work on the 4th Avenue Flyover Rehabilitation project, requiring intermittent lane closures of the bridge which began in April 2024. The bridge is anticipated to be completed by Fall 2025.
Ongoing: One lane on the flyover will be closed at all times (24/7) and traffic will be reduced to a single lane.

BOW RIVER PATHWAY CLOSURE
From January 2024 to July 2025, the Bow River pathway in Bridgeland between St. Patrick’s Island and Baines Bridge will be closed to facilitate work on the Inglewood sanitary trunk project. Detours, and accompanying signage are in place. Find a map of the pathway closure and detours here.
