BIG Things Underway for 5th & THIRD and Arris

Something big is coming, giving East Villagers and our inner-city neighbours big cause to celebrate. The grocery provider opening in the 5th & THIRD Shopping Centre will now be an urban format Real Canadian Superstore®. Opening in Q2 2020, the East Village edition will offer all the freshness and variety you could want in a handy one-stop supermarket: produce, bakery, full-service deli, meat and seafood, optical department and pharmacy—plus the ever-popular President’s Choice®, Joe Fresh® and no name® products.

5th & THIRD, with 230,000 square-feet of retail, will also bring a Scotiabank, TD Canada Trust and Winners to the neighbourhood, with other retailers to be announced soon. Which means no more wasting your weekends with pilgrimages to the ‘burbs! And you won’t have to worry about parking either, thanks to the retail centre’s large underground parkade.

But if you prefer a zero-minute commute to groceries and services, that can easily be arranged. Quickly rising above 5th & Third is BOSA Development’s Arris tower. Originally envisioned as a condo project, the residential building will now feature well-appointed rental units as more Calgarians seek to embrace the flexibility of a leasing lifestyle. The first tower, with 190 rental units over its 26 storeys, will be a place to call home in 2021. The second, larger tower (43 storeys) will begin construction at a later date.
