Hello winter! We’ve been expecting you. Your fans - that’s all of us - can’t wait to meet you at our 1km cross-country ski loop on The Confluence lands in winter-friendly East Village. It’s cross-country skiing (and snowshoeing) in the city!

Don’t forget to BYOS - Bring Your Own Skis. We’ll see you on the snow!

Getting here

There are three walkable, bikeable and drivable entrance points to the loop.

  1. From the Confluence (Formerly Fort Calgary) parking lot

  2. From 8 Avenue & 6 Street SE

  3. From the Elbow River Traverse bridge which crosses the Elbow River and provides safe access to The Confluence from the neighbourhoods of Inglewood and Ramsay

Thank you for skiing responsibly!

  • Use of this trail is at your own risk. You assume all liability of any injuries or damages that may occur.

  • The trail is a shared space, open to all people of all abilities! It is free of charge and is groomed weekly. 

  • To help maintain the trail, please do not walk, jog, bike or bring dogs on the groomed trails.

  • Walkers/Snowshoers are welcome to use the path beside the groomed ski trail.

  • Slower skiers yield the track to faster skiers.

  • Track is not lit, bring a headlamp for night skiing.

  • Nearest washrooms are located at 6 Ave & 6 St SE by the playground. Seasonal hours: Daily 8am - 6pm. Additional facilities available at The Confluence and the Central Library.

  • Leave it better than you found it! Please take all waste and recyclables with you or dispose of them in receptacles located next to the EV playground.
